Privacy Policy

The short version

Your PDF files are processed entirely in your browser. They are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any server. We cannot see, access, or recover your documents — the technology simply doesn’t send them anywhere. You can verify this yourself: load the page, disconnect from the internet, and compression still works.

Your files

When you compress a PDF with PDF Shrink, the file is read and processed by JavaScript running locally in your browser. The compressed result is generated on your device and downloaded directly from your browser’s memory.

What we do collect

We collect a minimal amount of anonymous data:

Cookies

We set a single functional cookie named locale that remembers your language preference (English or Romanian). It contains only the two-letter language code, is not used for tracking, and expires after one year. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.

Third-party services

PDF Shrink is hosted on Vercel. Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) may be processed by the hosting infrastructure to deliver the site and protect against abuse, per Vercel’s privacy policy. These logs never include your PDF files, which are not transmitted.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you — no accounts, no emails, no files — there is effectively nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions about this policy, see the About page for ways to reach us.
